ST-ART | PRESENTATION
The go-to event for collectors and contemporary art enthusiasts
ST-ART is one of the very first contemporary art fairs to have established a lasting presence in the region. Created in 1997 in response to a growing need to promote contemporary art in the Grand Est region and beyond, ST-ART was launched on the initiative of art professionals, galleries and local institutions.
Over the course of 29 editions, the fair has put Strasbourg on the national and international map of major events dedicated to contemporary art, whilst remaining true to its roots.
ST-ART: committed to young and contemporary artists
Deeply rooted in its local area whilst remaining open to Europe and the wider world, ST-ART is an unmissable event on the contemporary art scene. A genuine springboard for emerging talent, the fair fosters ongoing dialogue with French and international galleries, develops lasting partnerships with regional cultural institutions and works to make art accessible to as many people as possible.
In 2024, ST-ART is launching the European Young Artists’ Prize in partnership with the Société des Amis des Arts et des Musées de Strasbourg (SAAMS), offering additional visibility to participating artists and galleries. The winner will receive a cheque for €2,000 from the SAAMS and a 15 m² solo exhibition space at the next edition of the fair in Strasbourg.
The Strasbourg Exhibition Centre: an architectural and ecological masterpiece
Nestled in the heart of Strasbourg, ST-ART covers an area of 10,000 m² within the Strasbourg Exhibition Centre, just a stone’s throw from the European institutions. It is an exceptional and environmentally responsible architectural achievement designed by the Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, winner of the Global Award for Sustainable Architecture.
Inspired by the harmonious coexistence of humankind and nature, the architect has designed a functional, bioclimatic building incorporating innovative solutions that minimise its environmental footprint.
Glass art takes centre stage
ST-ART showcases glass artists and the galleries that support them. Nestled near the Vosges forests, Alsace has remained a centre of excellence for the arts of fire for several centuries.
Three exceptional glass art sites, collectively known as ‘Les étoiles terrestres’, are joining ST-ART to showcase the richness of crystal craftsmanship: the Lalique Museum, the Meisenthal glassworks and the Saint Louis crystal works.
The ESGAA (European Studio Glass Art Association) will present the work of British artist Anne Peters, whilst the CERFAV (European Centre for Research and Training in Glass Arts) will showcase a selection of the finest pieces produced by former students.

An artistic committee working on behalf of galleries
The artistic committee plays a vital role in creating a fresh artistic environment for each edition. It carefully reviews and selects the proposals submitted by the galleries, showcasing emerging talent and innovative works, thereby ensuring a rich and varied experience for visitors.
A contemporary art fair at the crossroads of Europe
