Description
Since 2019, the Em’Arts gallery has been promoting the work of around twenty artists, offering a curated selection of urban and contemporary art.
Established in late 2022 in the heart of Lyon’s Presqu’île district, the Em’Arts gallery offers a wide range of artworks: paintings, sculptures, collages, prints, and street art books.
Beyond its physical space, the gallery also commissions street artists for murals and other works.
For the ST-ART art fair, the gallery presents two artists: Britt and Ërell.
Britt is an artist from Lyon who works with posters she finds in the streets across the world. For years, she has been a fixture on the walls of Lyon and throughout Europe with her little girls, a tribute to Vivian Maier, whose image of a young girl she has adopted, to engage people in the street about the rights of women and children, and to raise awareness about the environment and the world.
Ërell, for his part, is an artist and designer. He experiments with a form of ephemeral appropriation of urban space. The module he uses results from the fragmentation of a simple geometric shape: the hexagon. Ërell's module multiplies to generate an infinite number of "molecular" patterns and geometric compositions that interact with architecture or street furniture. By investing in the public spaces in which he intervenes, he wants to change the way passers-by perceive urban space and invites them to look for signs scattered along their path in the streets.
